Strength training … How does it work?

Strength training is one of the most commonly used types of exercise in the gym because it helps to build and strengthen muscles. Resistance exercise leads to an increase in muscle strength by forcing them to do more work than usual. In addition, it increases the body’s metabolism, which allows you to effectively reduce body fat.

How to exercise…

The result will be a shapely and aesthetic silhouette with outlined muscles. Strength exercises include, m.in, weightlifting, machine training or bodyweight training.

Types of strength training:

  • Full Body Workout (FBW) – in which the whole body is trained.
  • Split – in which selected parts of the body are exercised on a specific training unit.
  • Advantages of strength training:
  • increase in muscle mass and strength,
  • visualization and outlining of muscles,
  • reduction of body fat,
  • improvement of the appearance of the figure and body posture,
  • strengthening of the musculoskeletal system,
  • the ability to work on specific parts of the body.

Disadvantages of strength training:

  • often requires the use of equipment, e.g. dumbbells or barbells,
  • the effects require regularity and time, as well as the use of an appropriate diet,
  • in the case of poorly planned workouts, there may be an uneven development of muscle mass – strength and muscle asymmetry,
  • risk of injury (strain and degeneration of joints) and pain.
